  I'm All About Country:

Brooks and Dunn's run as the most successful duo in country music history came to a close last Thursday in Nashville with a sold-out show that included a special appearance from pal Reba McEntire. But even though the tour bus is parked for good, the guys are still working. Both have other interests, but they also promise to stay involved in music. Ronnie Dunn even plans to hit the road again -- especially if his wife Janene has anything to say about it. -- Tammy Ragusa

Keith Urban won't release his album Get Closer until November 16th, but the lead single, "Put You in a Song," is coming this month. He says, "I've always loved songs about the guy in love with the unattainable girl. And the idea that the only chance that this poor guy is ever going to have to get close to the object of his affection is to put her in a song just struck me." --Tammy Ragusa

The video for Toby Keith's latest hit, "Trailerhood," gives some newcomers their first shot on the small screen. Toby actually filmed the clip at a trailer park located outside of Nashville, and instead of using the hired guns to play the part of the neighborhood residents, he substituted the real thing, as he tells us: ["The stylist had dressed up seven or eight of the cast members to play these characters in there, and while we were shooting I was looking around. They had yellow tape around, so we've invaded this little trailer park, so it's a big deal for them to have this video shot there, and so they're all standing up behind the tape drinkin' a beer. That guy ain't got a shirt on, that kid hadn't got any underwear on, that kid there's sunburned and this one over here, her shirt isn't coverin' her belly, and I'm goin', 'Why don't you bring every one of those guys over here, set 'em around this lawn chair and let's sing the chorus together. No actors, just those people.'"]
Well, it worked, and Toby says the end result was a video with a more realistic feel. ["When you look at that video and you see 'em, that's the way they got up and started their day. No one went back and said, 'Let me go change my shirt', or 'Let me put a shirt on my kid.' It's the way people live like that, and that is authentic."]

Reba McEntire will kick off the second leg of the George Strait tour this week. They, along with special guest Lee Ann Womack, will get things started in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday (September 9th).
George and Reba paired up for their first full-fledged tour together earlier this year, but decided to add additional dates due to fan response and because they were having such a good time. And as Reba tells us, getting to spend time and play music with friends like George and Lee Ann is her main motivation for touring. ["We toured together with Conway Twitty in the early 80s, so George is George. He's still the same super guy, nice guy. He and Norma are such great people. A lot of his band was with him back then, and so it was like a family reunion. Lee Ann and I, we have fun everywhere we go everytime we're together. It's just so much fun to be touring with friends cause that's what I'm used to. Whether it's Lee Ann and George or Kelly Clarkson or Brooks & Dunn (or) Terri Clark. . . I love to tour with friends! That's when it's very special. It's not work. It's just goin' out there havin' fun."]
  • Reba will release a new album called All The Women I Am on November 9th.
  • Her first single is called "Turn on the Radio."
